It’s October and that can only mean one thing! MCM Comic Con London, the second one for 2016. The first thing I noticed when I got my ticket online was how fast they were selling and how the prices seemed a little higher than a few years ago, £15 for a off-peak ticket. So I arrive at 1.30pm and the place is booming with people, thousands of them outside, so many in amazing cosplay 🙂
Comic Con is just getting bigger and bigger, the queue system is so well organised for the crowds.
As I arrived quite late, I join the queuing system at 2pm, there is really no queue it is just a case of walking through, most of the people walking are reentering the complex. I spot a Batman suit a superman and a few other cosplayers outside.
I saw this girl in the queue and a guy having a picture, I thought I should take one too
These two are with the Jedi dad, how cute.
I’m finally through the gate, it only took 5 minutes and these two guys and girl catch my eye, she has a great outfit. I’m sure all the staff working at Excel must find this amusing and entertaining.
Once inside you get a sense of the size and scale of Comic Con, the last time I came they had expanded to one and a half halls, now they use two full halls. This is great as there is so much to see, there are three theatres for talks as well as the artists village and lots of other things to see. There is so much space but it still felt really busy and at moments a bit too packed. The two halls are on opposite sides of Excel which is split by a central corridor which helps as it lets the crowds have a break from Comic Con for food, cash, drinks etc.. without having to go too far.
This guy is wearing a simple but cool outfit 🙂
Posted this guy in the central corridor space
I saw this Pokemon on the train platform on Friday and I thought my eyes had tricked me, I was glad to have spotted him at MCM it wasn’t a dream after all.
Spotted Link doing a spot of shopping, I love the rucksack
The cosplay seems to get better and better every time I visit, this is a classic example of the level of effort
I found these super cool cupcakes some were Nintendo themed 🙂
Some Alien action, we know who is going to win this battle!
Now lets talk shopping, there is always so much to buy at Comic Con, this year I found tashnarr she makes these great figures, lots of them Nintendo themed
I managed to purchase three: Mario, Link and a Gameboy
I found this great Gameboy print, it was a must buy, I’m looking forward to hanging it up
The Loz iBlock Fun was very popular this year, I managed to get a 160pcs Mario 🙂
Check out the Tarzan in the left, what an amazing outfit and body. I saw the back of him on the way in and didn’t see him again 🙁 Only when checking these pictures did I realise oh I did see him again 🙁
To conclude MCM Comic Con was great fun, I was there for just over 3 hours and really I needed 4-5 hours. I did manage to just about look around at everything but it did seem like a whistle stop tour! Next time I will make sure I arrive at noon and spend more time. I really enjoyed it this year and I can’t wait to go back!
