I was invited to purchase the Prada for Adidas limited edition trainer and bag collaboration, there are only 700 pieces world wide, being sold exclusively at Prada stores and on the Prada website. Each store received 30 pieces. In London this was sold at the flagship Old Bond Street store. I was able to preorder and preview the bag and shoes the day before and then collect the next day without needing to queue. As usual lets get into the details:
The shoes and bag come in two large white boxes with the Prada for Adidas logos on the top of each box and a made in Italy logo on the bottom. The design is simple but classic.
Opening the bag box you are presented with Prada X Adidas paper matching the box.
Under the paper you find a white Prada X Adidas dust bag to protect and store the bag
The bag itself is all white with black piping, it is a bowling bag which is being released in the SS2020 menswear line soon. The leather is very soft and smooth to touch. The same simple logo is on the front of the bag, the back is plain.
A closer look at the stitching on the side, you can feel the craftsmanship in the product, it is hand made by Prada in Italy and you can see it.
The zipper feels solid with the Prada Milano logos on each one.
A closer look at the black contrast pipework leather and the chrome hardware.
Opening the bag up and you find the inside is all black.
Inside the bag is another small Prada X Adidas dust bag for the shoulder strap.
The shoulder trap is plain black with chrome Prada hardware. It would have been nicer if they had put the logos on the strap.
On the inside you have a zipper and a Prada made in Italy leather logo, it is a shame they didn’t opt for the classic Prada logo cloth for the inside instead of this plain version.
On the other side you find the limited edition number of my bag and shoes 522/700.
A closer look at the logo, a classic piece of craftsmanship.
Opening the shoe box you are presented with the same packaging as the bag, the issue I have with the shoe box is the lid, it is starting to rip as it bas been taped on the back to create a hinge. I would have preferred if it was a separate lid to stop this from happening.
The white shoes inside the box, you can smell the leather.
The leather is very shiny and quite hard, it is completely different to the soft and matt leather of the bag.
The look is simple but the stitching and the leather doesn’t feel like Adidas but does feel like Prada.
The design is 100% superstar
The tongue has the Prada Adidas logos on each shoe
On the back you only have the Adidas logo, it should of had the Prada one as well.
On the side of each shoe you have the Prada logo with a made in Italy logo underneath in white which is a nice touch.
On the inside of each shoe you have a white on white 522/700 edition number.
A top view shows the logos on the inside and the tongue.
A closer look at the inside logo.
The bottom of the show is just a simple grip with no logos.
The shoes come with a black dust bag with the logos in white.
There we have it, the Prada x Adidas limited edition trainer set priced at £2345, the set maybe expensive and exclusive but the craftsmanship makes it a wonderful piece to add to your collection.
