I recently received a Star Wars Lego Resistance X-Wing Fighter, I was pretty excited when it arrived, I enjoy building Lego and Star Wars Lego is extra fun! Now lets dive into the detail:
The box is pretty cool, it has a great image of the X-Wing shooting red rockets and there is an additional platform towards the bottom of the picture and a selection of characters from the film to go with it.
Lets start with the small stuff, I built the platform it didn’t take long, I know it is part of the story but I felt like it really wasn’t needed in the Lego set 😉
The build process was pretty easy, you get everything in numbers bags and a manual, I just did a couple of bags a night and I was done in no time! The final X-Wing looks great.
Taking a closer look you can see BB-8 and I decided to put my figures on top of the engines to keep them with the ship 🙂
The ship has quite a lot of detail however I do think the wings could of had a little more, especially the bottom ones as you can see the underside of them, however this is a small issue and really a personal preference. The ships cockpit opens up which is quite fun and I like the engine design.
The back of the ship looks really cool, I think they could of made more of a feature of the central back, I don’t see the point of the spinning wheel in the centre, but the 4 boosters around it look great.
Using the black dial near BB-8 you can open and close the wings, which is a vital part of a X-Wing, this looks great 🙂
I do prefer the wings open on the X-Wing, creating this X formation, the engines also split open which adds to the detail.
To conclude this is a great Lego X-Wing figure, it opens and closes creating the vital X-Wing feature, it was fun to build and it doesn’t take too long, the figure is actually quite big which is great as it feels like good value for money for the size. I did mention a few areas where extra detail could of been added but I don’t think you lose anything as is.
